DCC Charity Fund established PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 28 October 2011

altWe dare saying that for many of DCC members it is important to have a strong social profile and be active in charity.

Some members have already got experience and clear strategy and could inspire others. Some would like to be active but at the moment perhaps lack a good plan and a project to focus on.
DCC have established a charity fund, which aims at generating useful and effective charity activities. This fund will as well let our members be active and will create synergies between the projects and exchange of good ideas between the members.

October fest – best ever, 8th of October,2011

The Germans know how to make October Fest – of course. And this year was therefore not surprisingly the best ever October fest organized by German “Stamtisch” – http://www.stammtisch.lt/.

The food, the beer, the dresses, the decorations, the music – and the mood. It was all Bavarian style.

See you next year again.

DCC believes in the concept of cooperation between Danish and Lithuanian companies, based on more than just low cost production.

DCC therefore invited both its members and non members on a promotion trip with presentations and B2B meetings in Danske Bank head quarter in Copenhagen the 13th of September, 2011.

The cases presented were:

· Establishment of an IT service center in Lithuania, Carsten Lind, CEO in CSC Denmark and Nordic Vice President

· The logistic and opportunities, Kurt Larsen, Chairman of the board for DSV

· Investments into innovative Lithuanian companies and partnerships, Arvydas Strumskis, Founding partner, Business Angel Fund1

· Danske Bank experience in the Baltics, Mads Jacobsen, Director Danske Bank (responsible for international banking)

In connection with the promotion event a new committee was established, where The Danish Ambassador in Lithuania, The Lithuanian Ambassador in Denmark, Confederation of Danish Industries, Invest Lithuania and a number of DCC members will participate and meet every half a year . The idea is to agree on concrete activities which can develop the cooperation between Denmark and Lithuania – see here the resume from the first meeting here.

See also here the opinion of one of the participants, Sarunas Sziugzda, Litcapital:

LitCapital had an excellent business networking opportunity during the last DCC trip to Copenhagen. My aim was to meet several Danish businessmen and it worked perfectly. In addition, I met a number of very interesting Lithuanian businessmen too. The organisation, presentations, food and general atmosphere was very professional and at the same time friendly and almost informal. It is also important, that the trip was very efficient in terms of time spent and new business relationships built. Thanks Danske for hosting us in such a nice place and my congratulations to Simona and Thomas for an excellent job!

Also, Arvydas Strumskis, Business Angel Fund:

There was great chance to meet like minded people as well as new friends and business partners. Good presentation content, excellent venue!
